The refrigeration compressor (1) has a connecting rod (4), piston (3) and an inlet valve (11) which is arranged in the connecting rod or piston. The connecting rod is provided with bearings (4-1,4-2) and inlet valve control cam. A gap is formed between longitudinal axis of connecting rod provided at the piston and rotational axis (16) of moving crankshaft (5). An independent claim is included for method for operating refrigeration compressor.
