The device (1) has a de-icing agent supply unit for providing a liquid de-icing agent (13). A de-icing agent distribution unit is supplied with the de-icing agent by the supply unit for planar distribution of the agent. A control unit is provided for automatic operation of the device. The distribution unit has spraying nozzles (7) for spraying the de-icing agent on surfaces. The nozzles are arranged in series by a pipeline strand (12). The nozzles have a pipe connection with a remote control valve (4). The strand and supply lines (5) comprise an inner coating of plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for removing and/or preventing snow deposits on a roof or a photovoltaic system by using fluid.
