The permanent magnet unit (2) has a permanent magnet (6) whose side portions are provided with coatings (5). The permanent magnet is arranged in the receiving opening (4) of rotor housings (3) such that interference fit exists between the rotor housing and permanent magnet unit. The coatings are made of plastic materials. A protecting layer is formed between the coating and permanent magnet.
