The method of hydroconverting heavy carbonaceous loads, comprises hydroconverting the load in a first reactor (3) containing a bubbling bed catalyst, and hydroconverting a portion of the resulting effluent in a second reactor (2) containing a slurry catalyst and a solid additive. The effluent obtained from the first hydroconversion step is separated into light fractions containing 90 vol.% of bubbling compounds at more than 450[deg] C. The additive comprises mineral oxides. The supported catalyst contains an element from group VIII and/or group VIB having a particle size of 0.001-100 mu m. The coke has a particle size of 0.001-100 mu m, diesel and an aromatic additive. The effluent obtained from the second hydroconversion step is passed to a section separating the gas, a fraction containing solid catalyst particles and liquid fractions devoid of solids. The fraction containing solid catalyst particles separated after the second hydroconversion step is partially or totally recycled into hydroconversion of slurry after regeneration treatments such as combustion, solvent cleaning, gasification or other separation techniques. The separation and regeneration treatment of catalysts comprise fractionating the solid catalyst particles under vacuum to obtain a residue concentrated with metals, coking the fraction containing solid catalyst particles and/or residues under vacuum to obtain a solid effluent containing coke, performing liquid/liquid extraction of the fraction containing solid catalyst particles and/or residues under vacuum at 50-350?OC by aromatic-, naphthene-aromatic- and/or polar solvent to obtain an extract concentrated with metals and raffinates, combusting the extract at 200-700[deg] C to obtain ash concentrated with metals, and preparing metallic solution containing metal catalysts. The separation and regeneration treatment of catalysts further comprise, before the step of combustion, grinding the solid extract obtained from liquid/liquid extraction, and leaching the grinded extract in the presence of water, saturated solvent and surface active agent to obtain an extract and a leaching element. The light fraction is hydrotreated and/or hydrocracked for producing liquid petroleum gas, naphtha, kerosene, diesel and vacuum distillate.
