The strip has a sealing lip (52a) elastically supporting on a window glass (26) of a door. The lip is connected to a fixation clip fitted on free ends of a sheet stiffener (50) belonging to the door. A longitudinal edge of the strip comprises a stopper (58) that limits a clearance of the window glass along transverse direction of the door during operation of the door. The stopper is formed to extend remotely from the window glass during assembling of the strip on the door. An independent claim is also included for a door of a motor vehicle, comprising a garnishing panel.
