The present invention relates to an on-screen display data processing for assisting the orientation between a current position point (POSC) and a destination point (DEST). The on-screen display has at least one 3D representation of a panorama facing the position point. Within the meaning of the invention, provision is made for: a step of comparing a distance from the current position point, at least a threshold distance (DSI; DS2), and a display data processing step, according to said comparison, to control a control of the on-screen display with at least, respectively from the bottom of the screen towards the top of the screen: ▪ a first 3D representation according to a defined perspective with a first angle of view with respect to a selected plane, a panorama separated from the current position point by a distance less than said threshold distance (DSI; DS2), and ▪ a second representation according to a defined perspective with a second angle of view relative to said chosen plane, a panorama separated from the current position point by a distance greater than said threshold distance (DSI; DS2), the first angle being smaller than the second angle.
