The system has a conical or truncated cone shaped male junction unit (3) with a wedge that is arranged parallel to a longitudinal axis of the male junction unit and protruded beyond a distal end of the male junction unit. A female junction unit (8) includes a conical or truncated cone shaped cavity provided with a bore at an internal wall, where the bore is complementary to the wedge. An independent claim is also included for a modular transfemoral prosthesis comprising a junction system connecting a tubular diaphyseal part to a metaphyseal part of a femoral stem of a modular transfemoral prosthesis.
