The crossbow has a tubular body having a median plane whose end is connected to a hook (120) and another end is connected to a head (130). The body is formed of upper and lower tubes (110a, 110b) superimposed in the median plane. Each tube has an elliptical section with a small axis located in the median plane. A front side of the hook and a rear side of the head are provided with tenons (140a, 140b), where sections of the tenons are identical to inner sections of the tubes to assemble the tubes, the hook and the head by fitting the tubes on the corresponding tenons. The tubes are filled with an expanded material with closed pores.
