The method involves placing a flexible filled package in a room at pressure (P1) higher than atmospheric pressure. Pressure (P2) in a chamber is decreased lower than the former pressure, simultaneously. A separation value (d) of a package wall is measured. The measured separation value is compared with a threshold value. A defective packing is rejected when the measured separation value is lower than the threshold value. An independent claim is also included for an installation for testing a flexible package filled with products under vacuum, comprising a vacuum unit.
