The beacon (10) has an electronic assembly (12) equipped with an antenna (13). The electronic assembly is placed in a protection case (11). The case comprises a platform to be inserted under a skin of an animal according to direction parallel to the skin of the animal. The case comprises a sharp edge (15) to cut the skin of the animal. The case comprises fixing hooks (16) anchored in a lubricating mass of the animal, where the edge and the hooks are made of biodegradable material i.e. Kelvar(RTM: Light strong para-aramid synthetic fiber). An independent claim is also included for a device for setting a beacon, comprising a propelling unit.
