The fascia (4) has an airbag module (1) i.e. passenger airbag module, mounted inside the fascia by sliding in grooves (22, 23) i.e. long and narrow notches, formed at an interior (42) of the fascia. The airbag module is mounted and/or extracted via a side (41) of the fascia. The grooves extend along large dimension of the airbag module. A removable cover plate is provided on the inner side of the fascia. The airbag module has an inflatable bag folded in a rigid envelope (10) provided with two extending rails (12, 13) that are arranged parallel to the length of the airbag module. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting or extracting an airbag module in or from a fascia of a vehicle.
