The system has air intake flaps (20) controlled between an open position in which the flaps allow passage of an air flow (90) through an evaporator (10) of a heating system when the heating system is in an operating mode, and a closed position when the heating system is not in the operating mode. The flaps are controlled to reduce a flow rate of air traversing the evaporator when the heating system is under operation and when an icing risk on the evaporator is detected. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for limiting an icing risk on an evaporator of a heating system of a motor vehicle (2) a vehicle comprising an air intake flap system.
