Surface treatment of a core of sandwich type composite panel used as e.g. shells for boats, comprises preparing an imprint of recess on one of two opposite external planar faces of the core using a matrix pressed on external face
The process of surface treatment of a core (2) of sandwich type composite panel (1), comprises preparing an imprint (4) of recess by stamping using a matrix pressed on one of two opposite external planar faces (20) of the core. The impression defines a network of channels (40) on the concerned external face. The channels are homogeneously distributed on the external face of the core with a surface distribution of 0.2-0.5 cm 2on the external face of the core, and have a surface of 20-50% of the total area of the external face with 1-5 channels per cm 2. The process of surface treatment of a core (2) of sandwich type composite panel (1), comprises preparing an imprint (4) of recess by stamping using a matrix pressed on one of two opposite external planar faces (20) of the core. The impression defines a network of channels (40) on the concerned external face. The channels are homogeneously distributed on the external face of the core with a surface distribution of 0.2-0.5 cm 2on the external face of the core, and have a surface of 20-50% of the total area of the external face with 1-5 channels per cm 2. Two adjacent channels of the impression are spaced maximum from one another by a distance of less than 6 mm, and have a width of 0.3-1.5 mm, a depth of less than 1.5 mm and less than 30% of the thickness of the core. The channels form a pattern of linear rectilinear or curvilinear multiple channels parallel to each other, intersection of linear rectilinear or curvilinear channels defining mesh having a predetermined mesh, a honeycomb, candy shaped, square, rectangular, parallelogram, triangle, circular or elliptical mesh, and an intersection of linear rectilinear or curvilinear randomly distributed channels. The step of stamping is to press the matrix at a temperature of 5-40[deg] C on each external face of the core. The matrix is initially heated at a temperature greater than the glass transition temperature or melting temperature of the material constituting the core on each concerned external face of the core. Independent claims are included for: (1) a core of sandwich type composite panel; (2) a process for preparation of sandwich type composite panel; and (3) a sandwich type composite panel.
