The present disclosure relates to a papermaking belt having a surface in contact with the embryonic web for transporting an embryonic web of paper fibers and a surface not in contact with the embryonic web opposed to the surface in contact with the embryonic web. The papermaking belt has a patterned frame having a continuous network region and a plurality of individual deflection conduits isolated from each other by the continuous network region. The continuous network region has a pattern formed therein by a plurality of mosaic meshes. Each mesh has a center and at least two continuous bearing surfaces extending in at least two directions from the center. At least one of the continuous bearing surfaces bifurcates at least to form a continuous bearing surface portion having a first width before the bifurcation and at least two continuous bearing surface portions having a second width after the bifurcation.
