The method involves estimating evaporated fraction (Mc Evap) of fuel of mixture at an end of a supply, where the mixture includes fresh air, fuel injected and supplied in a cylinder and waste gas. Temperature of the mixture at the end of the supply is determined according to mass of fresh air of the mixture and based on estimated evaporated fraction. The mass of fresh air of the mixture is calculated based on a mass of the waste gas and based on the determined temperature of the mixture according to the mass of the fresh air of the mixture. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle including a direct injection heat engine.
