The method involves interposing an elastically deformable unit (5) between an electric battery (7) and a chassis (2) of a motor vehicle (1). Connection force (F) is exerted from the battery and the chassis to deform the deformable unit, where the deformable unit exerts return force (Fr) opposed to the connection force. A locking unit (12) is arranged in relative position of the battery with respect to the chassis in which the deformable unit is deformed, where the locking unit blocks movement of the battery with respect to the chassis under the effect of the return force. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electric battery for use on a chassis of a motor vehicle (2) a chassis for receiving an electric battery.
