The device has an electric cable (2) that is foldable in a box (17) and fixed to the box from a side of one of ends of the box. The cable is guided in the box in a folded position along a zigzag path defined by supports e.g. pulleys (28), and in an opening of the box from a side of another end of the box. A part of the supports is movable in translation to vary the distance between the supports to join the supports together to unfold the cable, and to move away the supports one from another to fold the cable in the box. An independent claim is also included for an electric vehicle comprising a housing to receive a winding device.
