The brake has a locking body (2) mounted on a secondary shaft (1) of a gear box controlled by a gear ratio selector (3) i.e. barrel type selector, having an active position and a neutral position. A mobile latch (8) is carried by a fixed structure (9) against the locking body, and recalled back in an elastic manner toward a spaced position of the locking body. An automatic parking control unit (14) i.e. cover, acts on the latch in a locking direction of the body when the selector is in the neutral position.
