The shoe has an upper layer made of rigid material and arranged in contact with a hoof of an animal, a central layer made of elastomer material, and an additional layer made of steel. A lower layer made of rigid material is arranged in contact with ground. The upper layer includes internal notches (6-9) on a face that is in contact with the hoof of the animal. The notches are formed symmetrically on side parts (1, 2) of the shoe. The lower layer includes external notches (10, 11) on a face that is in contact with the ground. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an equid shoe.
