The device has a conveyor belt (1) including an end at which objects i.e. walnuts, are deposited. A recognition unit includes cameras (3a, 3b) arranged opposite the conveyor belt. Blowers (4a, 4b) are controlled in dependence on data received from the recognition unit. Adjustable pallets (5a, 5b) align the walnuts in the direction of movement of the belt so as to ensure adequate inline movement of the walnuts. A calibrator device (6) is provided upstream of the belt to separate the walnuts according to a size.
