The furniture (10) has a structure forming a seat (16) or mattress, and a frame (18) for supporting the structure. The frame includes feet (22) to bear the furniture on a floor (12), and a lower face (30) facing the floor. A lighting unit (44) is fixed on the lower face of the frame so as to illuminate a zone (50) of the floor opposite the lower face of the frame. The lighting unit includes LEDs that emit radiation of identical wavelength. The LEDs are provided in the form of strips fixed on the lower face. An aspect plate (34) extends perpendicular to the lower face to hide the lighting unit.
