Method for designing luminaire in building for providing e.g. emergency lighting during power failure, involves allowing predetermined distribution to contribute to decrease in luminance measured from viewing position remote from bracket
The method involves providing a set of LEDs (S) that is arranged in alignment with a mounting bracket. A minimum number of LEDs constituting the alignment is determined, and angular distribution of LEDs along the alignment is determined with respect to an observation axis (X) perpendicular to the alignment to obtain a predetermined distribution of luminous flux of the minimum number of LEDs. The predetermined distribution is allowed to contribute to a decrease in veiling luminance measured from a viewing position remote from the bracket and from certain distance through the observation axis.
