The rear seat (1) has a footrest (2) including a plate with a bearing surface for resting the feet of a passenger, where the plate is adjustable in angular position. The footrest is connected by rods (4a, 4b) to the seat such that the angular position of the footrest is simultaneously changed upon modification of inclination of the seat, where the seat includes a back (1a) and a cushion (1b) rotatably connected with respect to each other. The plate is held in its position by a jack that is articulated at its lower end on a lower floor (5b) and at its upper end on a lower surface of the plate.
