The reservoir (4) has a top wall including a filling orifice (5), and a side wall or bottom wall having an outlet (6). The outlet is separated from the filling orifice by an intermediate partition defining a reserve volume delimited by a flexible connecting tube (3) having an end corresponding to the outlet and an opposite end (20) extending beyond a vertical alignment with the filling orifice. The intermediate partition extends to a level for enabling visual inspection of brake fluid level by the filling orifice as the level of brake fluid is greater than or equal to a minimum. An independent claim is also included for a braking device comprising a master cylinder.
