The method comprises placing a filling material on a metal strip, and connecting edges of the strip by welding. The filling material is formed as a bar before placing it on the metal strip. The method further comprises coating the bar constituting the filling with an envelope intended to constitute an envelope in between the filling and the external envelope of a flux-cored wire, and rolling and/or stretching the flux-cored wire at an elongation rate of 10-20%. The envelopes are made of paper, polymer or metal. The bar is obtained by extrusion or continuous casting. An independent claim is included for a flux-cored wire.
