The absorber (10) has a hollow portion (12) partially defined by an upper face (14) and a lower face (16). A cover is arranged around a hinge (26) relative to the upper face and the lower face. The cover comprises an inner wall (24A) and an outer wall that is located opposite the inner wall. The cover is deformed by tilting around the hinge between an open position and a closed position, where the inner wall is curved along an orientation. The cover is attached with rear edges (14B, 16B) of the upper face and the lower face, respectively, so as to close the hollow portion. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a bumper.
