The device has a triple hook part (20) including a shank (21) whose end is coupled to an end of a longitudinal portion (11) of an anchoring part (10) by a flexible wire (30). A swiveling unit moves the hook part from an engaged position to a free position by applying force on the wire. The hook part is attached with the anchoring part via an anchoring element (16) i.e. anchoring eyelet, so that free ends of hooks (24) extend from one end to another end of the portion in the engaged position. The hook part is detached from the anchoring part and moved relative to the wire in the free position. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a hook device on a bait body.
