The method involves measuring a value of utilization rate representing a ratio between electric current intensity and maximum current intensity capable of providing by a power source i.e. starter-alternator (20). A risk of disconnection of a battery (10) is detected by analyzing the value of utilization rate by comparing the variability of the value of utilization rate with a threshold of maximum variability. A warning signal is generated if the analysis of the value of utilization rate indicates the risk of disconnection of the battery.
