The apparatus has a frame (5) including a base (6) carrying a crossbeam (7). A searching accessory (12) is mounted on the frame. The accessory includes friction elements (10, 11) which are arranged in lateral sides of antagonistic supports against a test-bar (1) following a support orientation transversal to work orientation (T1). Pins are carried by a beam (13) of the accessory via an articulated structure (14) equipped with displacement units (15) of the friction elements between a released position and a working position.
