The overturning device (6) of a container (4) around an overturning axis (A) comprises a fixed support member (18), two support members (14, 16) spaced along the axis of overturning (A) on both sides of a container receiving space (4) and able to support the container (4) while allowing the container to rotate relative to the support members (14, 16) around the turning axis (A). The device comprises a movable support member (20) rotatably mounted on the fixed support member (18) about the overturning axis (A), at least one support member (14, 16) being carried by the movable support member (20) being rotatably mounted around the drive shaft (A) on the movable support member (20), the or each support member (14, 16) carried by the movable support member (20) remaining stationary in rotation about the overturning axis (A) with respect to the fixed support member (18) during rotation of the movable support member (20) around the turning axis (A) relative to the fixed support member (18).
