System comprises one or more nanoparticles comprising a core consisting of one or more heavy atoms that are identical or different from the group of the periodic table of the elements with atomic numbers of 50-92, where the nanoparticles are bound to one or more photosensitizers; the nanoparticles emit electromagnetic radiation when they are exposed to ionizing radiation and/or transmitting the electronic energy of the heavy atoms excited by the ionizing radiation. System comprises one or more nanoparticles comprising a core consisting of one or more heavy atoms that are identical or different from the group of the periodic table of the elements with atomic numbers of 50-92, where the nanoparticles are bound to one or more photosensitizers; the nanoparticles emit electromagnetic radiation when they are exposed to ionizing radiation and/or transmitting the electronic energy of the heavy atoms excited by the ionizing radiation, and the electromagnetic radiation is emitted and/or electronic energy is transmitted to both complementary elevated local temperature already induced by the absorption of ionizing radiation and the activation of the photosensitizers in which they are connected to the nanoparticles, generating the production of reactive oxygen species and promoting transport.
