The installation (1) has a primary circuit pump (3) placed in a pit (4) that is closed by an upper slab (5). The upper slab is provided with an opening (6). A camera e.g. charge coupled device camera, is arranged at a height between 1.5 and 2.5 meters above the upper slab. The camera is angled downward to the pump so as to cover a top portion of the pump. The camera is positioned on an articulated arm. The arm is attached to a turntable that is intended to be fixed to a vertical support.
