The tool (20) has an adapter sleeve (21) that is in contact with a nut (47) and to impart a rotational movement about its axis (X) for driving the nut in translation along a threaded shank (42) of a screw (40). An immobilization casing (31) is in contact with the shank of the screw and exerts force away from a support (49) such that sufficient force is applied to a base (43) of a head (41) of the screw, where the screw is immobilized by the immobilization casing by friction upon tightening of the nut against the support. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembly of a screw mounted through a support.
