The wheel has a disk (12) for carrying blades (14) whose feet are engaged in axial grooves in the periphery of the disk. The grooves are separated from each other by teeth of the disk. An axial retaining unit includes an annular part (72) radially arranged downstream from the blades. The annular part defines a radial plane (P) for axially supporting the blades and axially aligning the blades with the disk. The annular part is tightly maintained against radial downstream faces of the teeth by an annular downstream plate (74) secured to the disk.
