The device (30) has a nut (41) extending along an axis (12), and traversed from end to end by an opening extending along the axis. An end of the nut is formed by a cylindrical proximal part whose internal wall is provided with an internal thread. The nut comprises a distal part that is crimped on a plate (16) that is provided with a surface (17) arranged along a plane perpendicular to the axis and directed toward the end of the nut. Outer diameter of the proximal part is constant over length between the end of the nut and the plane perpendicular to the axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a fixing device.
