The device has an upstream light source e.g. electroluminescent diode, that is powered from a base, and an electroacoustic transducer i.e. loudspeaker. A signal receiving unit i.e. renderer, is utilized for receiving an audio signal disseminated by the loudspeaker that is powered from the base. An amplifier is powered from the base, and is utilized to amplify an electrical signal provided by the signal receiving unit, where the amplified electrical signal is transmitted to the electroacoustic transducer.
