The element has an elastomer selected from an ethylene-propylene copolymer type olefinic thermoplastic elastomer, polyethylenic type thermoplastic elastomer with a partially or completely vulcanized rubber phase, silicone based thermoplastic elastomer, styrene based thermoplastic elastomer and polyurethane based thermoplastic elastomer, where the element is in the form of a tube. The tube has an inner diameter ranging between 0.8 and 4 mm, and an outer diameter ranging between 1 and 6 mm. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing an elastic element (2) an article such as individual protection equipment.
