Method for acoustic detection of malfunction of gas turbine engine in aircraft, involves utilizing active noise control device, and acoustic detector for analyzing temporal signal, and sending malfunction detection message if necessary
The method involves providing an active noise control device (2), which is utilized for processing raw acoustic timing signal (S-t) from an engine at a determined operating frequency range that is outside a predetermined frequency band associated with a malfunction of a gas turbine engine. An acoustic detector (4) is utilized for analyzing an acoustic temporal signal event (Z-t), and for sending a malfunction detection message if necessary. An independent claim is also included for a system for acoustic detection of malfunction of a gas turbine engine.
