The robot (501) has a rail (505) in circular arc form, and a carriage (506) with an actuator (507) for moving the carriage on the rail about a rotation axis (R1). Another rail (513) in circular arc form is pivotally mounted on the former rotation axis and connected to the carriage. Another carriage (514) includes an actuator (516) for moving the latter carriage on the latter rail about another rotation axis (R2). A machining head mounted on the latter carriage includes an actuator for moving the head in a translation axis (T) relative to the latter carriage.
