The present invention relates to a method for detecting targets with a rotating antenna mobile radar, including small targets embedded in the radar clutter, without increasing the number of false detections. The method includes a step of determining predetections during N antenna laps, this step including a step of determining pre-detections in turn, each pre-detection being stored in a cell grid centered on the position occupied by the radar at the beginning of the turn current, each cell of the grid corresponding to an azimuth range and a range of distance. This step also includes, at the end of each turn, a step of shifting all the predetections stored in the grid during the previous rounds of the movement undergone by the radar during the last lap. The method also includes a step of determining the detections, a target being detected as soon as a set of predetections arranged in the grid have its distances from the radar which constitute a linear progression during the N antenna turns.
