A head pole for use during harness or sulky racing. The pole comprises a carbon fibre pole and a carbon fibre sleeve to create a telescopic action. A spring resisting spring slide collar clip is attached at both ends of a separation stop and quick means of easy adjustment are provided. The pole attaches at one end to the bridle and at the other the back strap/saddle base plate.
