Handle for Mitre Saw Operated Using Either or Both Hands

A mitre saw 1 adapted to seat on a bench or the floor has a base 2, a turntable 3 and a blade assembly 6 pivotally mounted on a support structure 4 about a pivot axis parallel to the axis 11 about which a blade 7 rotates, a handle 10 parallel to the pivot axis long enough to be gripped by both hands of the user and including within its length (L, Figure 2) the plane of the blade i.e. extending to both sides of the blade. The centre of the handle may be in the plane (P, Figure 2) of the blade. The handle may support an ambidextrous guard release mechanism 18 and drive motor trigger (17, Figure 2) located in the centre of the handle so as to be operated by either the left or right hands. The support may have slide bars 5. The blade may have a guard 8. The handle may be attached to the guard as an integral injection moulding.
