A pair of swimming goggles comprising a pair of lens portions 2 which each have a lower 6 and upper 4 peripheral wall wherein the upper peripheral wall 4 has a convex outer surface and contacts a wearers face in use. The lower peripheral 6 wall may also be convex and the outer surface of the lens portions may be smooth and curved including the transition from the lens to the wall. The goggles may be designed to be worn extra orbitally and have edge portions which provide a smooth transition to a users face. The goggles may have a width in excess of 55mm. The goggles are designed to reduce drag and help hold them on a user when swimming.
