The invention relates to an insect trap provided with insect capture means 100 with a first general capture surface 102 and a second separate surface 104 designed to facilitate record keeping. The general capture surface is one colour or shade and the separate surface is another colour or shade. Preferably the first surface is a dark colour and the second surface is a light colour and is provided with grid lines thereon. The first surface can be detached from the second surface.
