Disclosed is a method for preparing polymethoxy dimethyl ethers, which comprises performing continuous acetalization reaction of trioxymethylene and methanol or methylal by ionic liquid catalysis. The equipment used in the method includes a reaction zone, a separation zone, a catalyst regeneration zone and a product dehydration zone. The method works in the manner of tube reaction with circulation, whose advantages are high external heat exchanging efficiency, simple design structure and low investment. The method uses the film evaporator to achieve rapid separation and cyclic use of the light component.
