Receiving multicarrier signals in an antenna diversity transmission scheme, the signals having cyclic delays introduced such that portions of the signal are delayed by different amounts, and both delayed and non-delayed pilot signals being included in respective separate carrier signals. At a receiver, or in accordance with a receiving method: time domain multicarrier signals are converted into a plurality of separate carrier signals having respective signals; delayed pilot signals, non-delayed pilot signals and data are extracted from the respective carrier frequencies; a first interpolator receives the non-delayed pilot signals and generates a channel frequency response for time synchronisation; a second interpolator receives the delayed pilot signals and generates a channel frequency response for data equalisation; and a channel equaliser receives the output of the second interpolator and the delayed data.
