PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the verification on all spirals without interruption of recording when, on the basis of recording by ATS (adjacent track servo), simultaneous recording of the spiral folded into two or more is performed for improvement in the recording rate.;SOLUTION: In simultaneous recording of a double spiral, two objective lenses whose positions are made possible to be controlled independently, respectively irradiate a recording medium with each of a set of beams for a recording beam servo. Guide use tracks are formed at coarse pitches by a first recording beam, a tracking servo is applied to an up-to-date orbited track of the guide use track by the beam for a second servo to start recording by a second recording beam. Thereafter, by the second recording beam, the beam for a first servo is moved widthwise to the recording track side, and the retraction of the tracking servo is performed with respect to the recording track.
