PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine comprising a storage type spool holder base in which especially the spool holder base is stored within the outline located on the left side of a balance of a sewing machine body to pull out a thread in a stable state.;SOLUTION: A sewing machine comprising a storage type spool holder base 4, comprises: a spool room 3 for storing a spool 91, provided on a left side of a balance 15 when viewed from an operator of the sewing machine, and including an opening 32 below a top plate 1 and on a top surface of the top plate 1; the spool holder base 4 provided within the spool room 3, and including a spool shaft 42 holding the spool 91, and allowing the spool 91 to be moved between a storage position and a take-out position; a spool thread guide 5 arranged at a position above the spool shaft 42 when the spool holder base 4 is positioned at the storage position of the spool 91, for guiding a thread n from the spool 91; and a needle thread thread guide 11 for guiding a needle thread as a thread guide between the spool thread guide 5 and the balance 15.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
