PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-luminous road stud capable of emitting light with high luminance for a long time and having a wide luminous area with high visibility, without detachment or falling of a self-luminous portion trampled under vehicles or the like; and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The top face of a road stud body 2 is provided with a self-luminous layer 3 which contains a self-luminous material. The road stud body 2 and the self-luminous layer 3 are integrally molded with a transparent synthetic resin. A reflection board 4 formed of a steel plate with a white reflection plane at least on one side is embedded in the road stud body 2 below the self-luminous layer 3 such that the white reflection plane is located adjacent to the self-luminous layer 3. The planar shape of the reflection board 4 is smaller than the planar shapes of the road stud body 2 and the self-luminous layer 3. The resin portion of the road stud body 2 below the reflection board 4 and the resin portion of the self-luminous layer 3 above the reflection board 4 are integrally combined at the periphery of the reflection board 4. The self-luminous layer 3 is formed by precipitating a self-luminous material contained in a mixed material of the transparent synthetic resin and the self-luminous material injected in a form block onto the bottom of the form block.
