PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a bar material to a prescribed machining position and to continuously machine the bar material in a fixed dimension.;SOLUTION: A bar material machining system 100 includes: a lathe 30 including a main shaft 31 holding a distal end of a supplied bar material R and rotating the bar material R around the axis, a main shaft movement mechanism 33 moving the main shaft 31 in a longitudinal direction of the bar material R and a tool cutting the bar material R rotated by the main shaft 31; a detection part 41 detecting displacement amount of the bar material R supplied to the lathe 30 in the longitudinal direction; and a control part 43 controlling the main shaft 31 and the main shaft movement mechanism 33. The control part 43 causes the main shaft 31 to release the holding of the bar material R once after finishing the cutting of the bar material R by the tool, causes the main shaft movement mechanism 33 to move the main shaft 31 in a direction of a base end of the bar material R by a prescribed distance and causes the main shaft 31 to hold the bar material R at a position where the main shaft 31 is further moved in the same direction by the same distance as the displacement amount of the bar material R detected by the detection part 41 for the time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
